Cute hunnies

I uploaded a video of my little sisters singing "twinkle, twinkle little star" in Finnish. Aww, they're lovely. :) And I miss them!

Go Viivi!

My friend is in the Miss Suomi beauty contest!
Vote for her: number 2, Viivi Suominen! Why? Because she's pretty, dah! :) And, she's down-to-earth, kind, smart and funny.

Hot!

Viivi's a great gal indeed. Finland: if you want to represented by a beautiful, smart and friendly young woman who knows who she is and what she wants, vote for Viivi S, number 2! :)

P.S. The contest is this Sunday, so thumbs up!

Earthquake in Haiti

The earthquake in Haiti was another turn in the series of crises in the country's hard history full of political turmoil. It is one of the largest devastations of our time.

Help has been promised from all over the world, but it takes much more than hundrets of millions of dollars to bring the country back on its feet. The impact of the earthquake on the already troubled country and society is enormous. I hope our leaders and the helpers will be organized, co-operative, and I wish they made wise decisions.

Frost

Yeah, I know, yesterday I wrote a post about exactly the same thing... But I just can't get enough! :D It's so incredibly beautiful outside!

So, again today I went out to take pictures. Today everything was covered with frost. It's like there's a sugar glazing all over this land.

Amazing sunlight.

Frost.

Freezing...

Winter wonderland.

More beautiful pictures of the sugar glazing and frostbites on my friend's Antti's blog.

Winter wonderland

Here in Helsinki we're having the most snow since the 60's. And I'm loving it! Usually winters here in southern Finland are an annoying mixture of cold wind, rain, wet snow, ice and slush. But now we're living in a winter wonderland! :) I went for a walk to the nearby woods and took pictures.

Sun.

Hill.

Sunny winter day.

Snow!

City nature.

And me in the snow.

Apart from admiring the nature, I have been searching, searching and still searching for the internship. But there might be something for me now, so let's see. ;)

New year 2010

New beginning! Right? So it's time for new year's resolutions!

Jamie Cullum says it the best in his song "Next year baby".

Next Year things are gonna change. I'm gonna drink less beer, work out every day, eat less chocolate, go to bed in time, spend less money on junk I don't need... I'm gonna be more positive and by next Christmas I'll be a real-life barbie - looking perfect in every way with a smile glued on my face.

But as Jamie said in his song: "Will I do any of these things? The answer's probably no." And that's probably true.

But for real, I want to concentrate on things that are important, and the things that make me happy. Love and be loved.

Carpe diem!

Old year 2009

I figured that it would be appropriate to make a collage of the past year. The year that was full of adventures!

We welcomed the year with my friends in a small bar in Helsinki. The night was great fun, we were singing to the music and dancing on the tables!

The spring semester I spent in Seoul. At first this blog was all about that so no need to say more.. :)

View to the city.

My Seoul sisters! <3

Hiphop club Ggun!

We did a weekend trip to Beijing, and did one of the coolest things I've ever done. We went to an unconstructed part of the Great Wall of China, and we hiked and climbed (really, climbed!) through a part of it!

Rice-farmer samurai-ninjas ready to take on the Great Wall :)

And then there was swine flu.

The summer we spent travelling through Southeast Asia, from  Hong Kong to Bangkok.

We started our travel in Hong Kong.

Another really, really awesome thing we did was when we rented bikes in Yangshuo in China, and cycled 25 km on the worst trail, but in absolutely the most beautiful scenery!

We went swimming in Yulong river.

Vietnam!

Relaxing.

We discovered the Temples of Angkor!

After my adventures in Asia, I came back home and saw my family again.

The fall I spent studying and hanging out with friends.

My girls.

Lapland trip was one of the highlights that fall!

The year passed by... but there's always a new day, a new year!

Happy new year 2010! :D
