26 November 2010

Miami, Florida

After raw-raw-rocking the house with Lady Gaga and her awesome band and amazing dancers, and sleeping for an hour, I headed to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport. I met my sleepy choir, sleepy since it was like 4 am, and hopped on the airplane. Slept, watched movies, ate the usual not-very-delicious airplane food, drank beverages, and arrived to MIAMI! Hell yeah! :D

I was soo excited! And for a reason, we were in sunny Florida! And not just anywhere, we were on South Beach. And we were so excited about that, that every day and every night we would just hang out on the beach, enjoy the sun, watch the stars, sing, play and of course swim in the warm, turquoise ocean.

I love the fact that you can go out bikinis, a top and shorts and flip flops. I think I've mentioned it earlier too. I mean, I love snow and winter activities too, I really do. But here in the north exiting your house in the winter is a matter of surviving. And I just love the fact that you don't have to worry about such a thing.

Going to the beach. Not yet tanned though.

A view to the city from our bus.

Warm nights, ahh...

On the beach.

We weren't just in Miami on our trip though. Part of our trip took place in Naples, on the west coast of Florida. It's like straight west across the peninsula from Miami.

In Naples we took part in this choir project where we did workshops with kids at the ages from 11 to 13, and held concerts in Naples. I loved the workshops! Basically it meant that we could just play with the kids. :P

Although Miami was incredible, our visit to Naples lies still very close to my heart, because in Naples we stayed with local families. Our family was so great and lovely, I miss them!

After our great time in Naples we returned to Miami to, well, have a blast again.

Going to see our new friend's Quinn's gig with our other new friends from Miami Uni, Liana and Taylor!

Oh yeah, another bigger thing we did was visiting the Bahamas.

3 nights to Miami!

Ah! Ah! Yay yay yay yay. Ah! Miami! Ah, ah! South beach, bring in the heat. Ah! Haha! Can y'all feel that? Can y'all feel that? Check it out! Ah!

Three nights til we're taking the plane to MIAMI! I am fucking excited!

As I've written before too, singing and choir are my hobbies. And now my choir Grex Musicus is going to do a trip to Miami. Oh yeah :D

We're gonna hold concerts, meet locals, and, of course, have a blast. :)

And to get to the mood here's a video...

The concert was, ahh, great

Yay! We had our Christmas concert! It went well! And my solo even better :D It felt great to sing it!

It has once again been a great time in Grex. Can't wait to see all of you again! But now until that, Happy Christmas, Grex!

And thanks, Linda for the rose! It's beautiful. :)

Excited for tomorrow

Tomorrow's gonna be my choir's Christmas Concert. I'm excited! But also a bit nervous... Because I'm singing a solo... :)

I sing in a choir called Grex Musicus.
You should check out our website! (it's also in english.) It's a mixed choir with a lot of young people, mostly students studying music or (like me) something else from business administration to technical engineering and social sciences. Even though singing in a choir might sound lame, it's a really fun hobby! :) It's nice to get together, sing together and work out challenging new songs.

These couple of past days I've been feeling a bit ill... I don't want to get sick! So I've been medicating myself and trying to rest as much as possible. And boy, have I been tired. I mean, this morning the weirdest thing happened. I was asleep and dreaming, and suddenly there was a really annoying sound in my dream. I remember dreaming that I was trying to track the source if the sound and get rid of it, but nothing I did helped. So I was basically freaking out in my dream. And by the way this dream went on for quite a while.

Anyway... I then slowly woke up and heard the alarm clock ringing. You know the most annoying sound ever: didididi, didididi, didididi. I checked the time, and the alarm had been on for 15 minutes. 15 minutes! How is that even possible?

Well, I guess I should be heading to bed... All excited and nervous about tomorrow... how will I ever be able to fall asleep?
