Finn day

Last Thursday we went to the Finnish embassy with Finnish exchange students. It was actually kinda nice to only speak Finnish for a while. Usually embassies organize some events for "their people" in foreign countries, so that's why we wanted to let the embassy know of our presence ;)

We decided to walk there from our university. I really love the fact that our university is at a walking distance from the city center! Well, on our way we decided to grab lunch from McDonald's because during the lunch offer BigMac meal costs only 2 €!

Worth every penny...

On our way to the embassy we joked about what's it gonna be like when we go there. There would be people screaming and welcoming us and throwing candy in the air. We would all dance in a circle and after that go to sauna. Well, the reality was that it was dead silent when we went there and the only thing there was for us was a form to fill and a pack of chewing gum that wasn't even Finnish!

After our dull visit to the embassy we went to check out a huge book store in the same building, Kyobo building. Even the English section was quite large with good and cheap books. If I could bring back home more than 20 kg, I'd go shopping there... Maybe I'll send myself a package :)

The book store.

That day rain took us by surprise. We had been educated that you shouldn't be out in the rain without an umbrella because of the acid rain, espacially when the clouds come from China. So we got ourselves these oh-so-cute umbrellas from a street vendor.

Since it was raining we decided rather to do some indoor activity, so we went bowling! It was fun! Mari was bowling for the first time in her life and she totally kicked ass :)

Girls' team.

Near the bowling place there was a really good sushi place. The place was nice and the food was great. It was actually my first time in a proper sushi place like that.

Finns and Sweeds :)

Later that evening we went out with Koreans to a bar that looked like a public toilet. I mean the writings on the wall. :) It hadn't been long since the sushi when we ate again... That is because Koreans don't go out and order just drinks. They always get some side dishes.

The side dishes: root vegetables, kimchi and tofu and vegetable pie.

Having traditional rice wine.
