Back from Lapland
Back from Lapland... great trip! Really, it was so much fun hanging together with friends, spending the whole day outside in the snow, the whole night in front of the fireplace partying, and not having to think about any of the work at the Uni and at our company.
We did a lot of winter/Lapland activities such as reindeer sledge and husky dog riding, ice fishing, making snowmen, having snow fights, going to the sauna and swimming in the ice hole... But the coolest thing was when we took a walk in the Pyhätunturi National Park's Isokuru, which is the deepest gorge in Finland. There was a lot of snow and we (I, actually, which was physically kinda hard, but fun) were the first ones to walk there for a while, so the track was all covered with snow and sometimes pretty impossible to find. So at times we were in the snow up to our waists. But it was fun! :) Sort of like an adventure in the nature! :)
The nature in the Pyhätunturi National Park was soo beautiful...
Just look at the water, it's crystal clear.
The destination of our hike was this 'frozen waterfall'. It wasn't that magnificent, but the journey there was so cool, that it made up for it.

Going to Lapland!
Yeah! I'm going to Lapland with the exchange students! Cuz I'm a tutor. Awesome! :)
It's gonna be great. Snow (hope so... damn global warming!), sauna, reindeers, husky dogs, snowboarding, Santa... :)
Gotta still pack my things, the overnight train is leaving tonight.
See you later! :)

Work.
This week I worked for 42 hours. In addition to 21 hours at the Uni and 7 hours of singing practise, of course. And it's Saturday now, so divide those hours to 6 days and minus them from 24 hours, and you'll get the time I was only thinking about work, school and singing, not doing it, per day. I wonder how much it is... Okay it's quite fine, could work more. Noo just kidding! Seriously, 12-hour days are not that healthy. Especially when you have the school work to do after you get back home. My oh my, I really shouldn't do this to myself. Especially when we are going to Lapland in just couple of days! :D I gotta pull through.
At the workplace we have a whiteboard for announcements, and there the other boss had written: "We accept suggestions for the little Christmas party". And someone had written suggestions: "1. prank calls (we are a telemarketing company by the way) and 2. getting wasted at the office".
The best! :D

Vaclav the metro musician
I posted a new video :)
Well, it's not new, it's from Seoul. But it's so great! :)
It's from the subway when we are on our way to a club in Hongdae when Vaclav was playing his flute. Check it out! :)

YouTube!
I joined YouTube, and I'm so socially networking... right... Well I posted some cool videos! :) Go check out my channel GreeteGoGo! :)
Here are few:
Attitude! We had to make an advertisement of ourselves to a course at the Uni.
Our locking performance! I wrote about the hiphop club Ggun in Sungkyunkwan Uni when I was in Korea. And this was our performance! :D In the beginning there are some people on the way, but they do move.
Ggun song "We can". I really like this song. I connect many good memories with it. When we had dancing practise in the club room there were singers and rappers outside practising this song and playing the music. Also outside there were people from some other club singing and playing guitar, people from the orchestra playing trumpets and violins, people playing the traditional Korean drums, and across the corridor you could hear the punk band, which I also liked, practising and always there were freshmen in the corridor playing drums. It was great!! Miss you!

Korean music industry SUCKS!
Hey y'all! Guess what, today I found an amazing little black dress, but it didn't quite fit... One size was too small and the other one too big. Nooo!
Anyways, then when I came home (I love the fact that shops are now open on Sundays, cause all the other days I'm completely busy...) I saw a Korean music video on YouTube, and it all came back to me... All the pink and light blue, bubbly, cheesy Korean pop songs. In Korea they are everywhere: in stores, bars, TV, radio, on the street... and I seriously doubt it if people really like them that much that they want to hear them on a repeat 24/7 (they don't). But the people are not asked if they want it or not (and this also applies to many other things apart from music). People in Korea listen to what the big companies put in the radio.
This was one of my favorite Korean songs in Korea, cause it's funny and positive and everything. But I'm conserned about what kind of example these girls set for their fans, the little girls. The singers don't particularly do anything else but look cute and swing their skinny butts around.
I like this video a lot better! It's still very commercial and also these girls are swinging their skinny butts around, but this video shows a lot more raw energy instead of the never-ending smiles and cute faces. Girls need strong role models! And this, I think, is a small step to the right direction.
But what Korea needs, is more alternative bands and styles and less power for the big companies that run the music business. Otherwise they will keep exploiting the young talents by keeping them locked in crappy contracts even as long as 13 years, and prevent the music industry from evolving into anyhing better.

Nice boss
First day as a boss. Wohoo!
It was fun at work today. I mean, it almost didn't feel like working because I was so excited about it and everything. And I didn't do that much bossing, but I still was on a different position from the regular sales people at the office.
I noticed that authority doesn't always come with the title. It has to be gained. The boss has to build trust between herself and the employees, be on the same level with the employees, be interested in the employees and encourage them, and, not try to be too much. Nothing sucks more than being full of themself.
Tomorrow: another day. And my plan is to get better all the time. And my mission at the office is to increase sales. The credit for the sales of course goes to the sellers, but a good organization behind them and a good boss, of course ;), don't harm. Instead, in the best case, it will help the sellers become better and gain more. Feedback rules! And I'm glad that the atmosphere at the office is great. It's a good place to start getting awesome!

Tomorrow: work!
My friend is a boss in a company he owns a part of. And today he went travelling for a month. And I will substitute him at the office for a month. Exciting! I'm gonna be a boss :)
We'll see how it'll work out, but I'm kinda confident alright. I have a lot of ideas to improve everything and stuff... :)
Well, gotta go to bed now! Wish me luck!

Singing
I've been doing loads of presentations, assignments, projects, work, hobbies and stuff this fall. Basically I'm doing (or supposed to be doing) something all the time. Sometimes it's a bit tiring, but then again sometimes it's really rewarding.
For example singing. I spend like 6 hours a week in a choir and in a singing group. Sometimes, because of that, I have to stay up late doing stuff for school. But I wouldn't exchange it to anything else!
Especially today we had a great practise :) and I can't wait for the Christmas concert! Which is 12th Dec by the way... ;)
Hanna in our practise.
Now, luckily, I only have to wait 2 days for our choir practise! :)

Blogging again... Wohoo!!
Hi :)
I was writing this blog when I was an exchange student in Korea. But then I came back to Finland and didn't write anymore. But my fingers are itchy... So I decided to start writing again! :)
Now I don't know what to write about...
